Since 1987, CIdE organizes the Summer School of Econometrics, a two weeks residential course whose purpose is to promote the knowledge among young researchers of recent advances in econometric methods. The School provides for young researchers the possibility of keeping in touch with some of the most recent developments in econometrics, and with other researchers with different cultural and working background, within a stimulating scientific environment. The planning and the teaching settings rely on the professional heritage and highly qualified experience of Italian and foreign teachers.
The School is held during two weeks (from Monday to Saturday of the following week) in June, and it is organized in four courses, two for the first week, and two for the second week. Each week has about 40 hours of either theoretical and applied (computer based) work.
The School just accomplishes teaching and introduction tasks both for theoretical and applied research. However, there is the possibility to deepen individual interest subjects or to analyse cases related by the single students, according to the interest and the availability of teachers and co-workers.
The participants will be asked to attend the lectures from the beginning of the morning of the first Monday to the end of the morning of the following Saturday. Any other professional activity (even if temporary) is not compatible with the attendance of the School
A Certificate of Attendance will be released and given to all students who have attended the School with profit.

The School is held at the “Centro Residenziale Universitario di Bertinoro” (University Residential Center).
The University Residential Center of Bertinoro is a facility consisting of three recently renovated historical buildings, set very near to one another, and composing a single big compound, located at the top of the ancient village of Bertinoro, in a quiet and panoramically wonderful position. The Centre includes a guest quarter, with about 123 sleeping accommodations in single and double rooms, all with bathroom and phone; lecture hall in the so called “Revellino” (the fortress outpost), 100 seats workspace, two smaller lecture halls, (35 seats), and a third recess room; 5 offices, two panoramic terraces, botanical garden and wide courtyard.
Address: Bertinoro University Residential Center, Via Frangipane, 6 – 47032 Bertinoro (FC) (Italy)
The number of participants can not exceed 40; to be admitted, university education at the level of Italian Laurea Magistrale or other foreign equivalent title is requested. Another requisite is a good background in microeconomics, macroeconomics, calculus, statistics and econometrics. The lectures and the reading material will be in English.
The participants will be selected by a special commission appointed by CIdE; a written communication of the admission will be sent by May 25th, 2009.
The subscription and participation fee to the School for the admitted candidates is 3.500,00 Euro and includes the subscription costs, the books, the teaching materials used by professors, and the stay costs, daily dinner excluded. Priority will be given to the candidates who want to attend the entire 2-weeks course. If possible the School will also accept 1-week participation. In this case the fee will be 2000,00 Euro.
CIdE provides a small number of scholarships corresponding to 1.400,00 Euro for one week and 2.500,00 Euro for two weeks. This reduces the subscription fee respectively to 600,00 Euro and 1.000 Euro, an amount that subscribers have to pay. The funding allocation is decided and unquestionable by a special commission appointed by CIdE. Travel expenses are not funded.
Therefore, differential fees are provided, according to the length of the course (one week or two weeks) and to the assignation or not of the scholarship (amounts are in Euro).
